Bio

My name is Stephen Davis, and I am honored to join Rocklin Academy to begin my 18th year teaching first grade, and 26th year teaching primary grades. While I love teaching all subjects, I am most passionate about teaching young children to read and write with joy and confidence. I strive to create a learning environment where all students feel loved and safe, and look forward to coming to school every day.

I've taught in Chicago and the Sacramento area in traditional public; public charter; and secular and non-secular private schools.

I teach with energy and humor, and do my best to make first grade a fun, nurturing and safe place to learn and grow. I understand the importance of teaching children to think critically and to believe in themselves, and enjoy serving as a male role model.

My wife, Erika, and I live with our 3 dogs in Rocklin. Some fun facts: I've never been on social media and have no desire to be; I grew up and lived in skyscrapers in Chicago for much of my life; I was raised without a father; my lovely wife of 35 years now and I have no children of our own; would love to learn Italian and see Italy.
