Hello! My name is Kristie Young and I am beyond thrilled to start my first year at Rocklin Academy Gateway, as a fourth grade teacher! Fourth grade is a fun, challenging year where children take big steps toward owning their learning and growing their individuality. I am so excited to be a part of this community and partner with you and your family this year!
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development at CSU Sacramento, and continued on to earn my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Master’s Degree in Teaching at UC Irvine in 2017. My experience student teaching took place first at a STEM-focused magnet school and then at a project-based charter school, where I truly developed a love for collaborating with fellow teachers, students, and parents. My first year of teaching took place in a fourth grade class in Grass Valley, so I am looking forward to a second year with this grade level working in the community I grew up in!
I grew up in Rocklin, but I currently live in Roseville with my husband Chase, whom I married this past May. We have a new puppy, Hanzo, and a beloved cat, Luna. We mostly enjoy our time indoors, playing with our animals, reading, crafting, or playing video games. I love all forms of art and work to improve my skills in my free time. I am a diehard Harry Potter fan and a lover of all things Disney!
I look forward to getting to know everyone in the Rocklin Academy Family of Schools community and am excited for a successful year in fourth grade!
