First, I am thrilled to be part of the team at Rocklin Academy Gateway! I have been teaching for 20 plus years, and I am more passionate about teaching children now than the day I started.
I started teaching in Kentucky where I graduated from Western Kentucky University. After a couple of years, I decided it would be fun to teach abroad and that landed me in Moscow, Russia. At the Anglo-American school, I taught everything but my major, math, but what an amazing experience, and it allowed me to visit much of Europe. When I finished my time abroad, I settled in California where I taught mathematics at Menlo-Atherton high school for the last sixteen years.
My twelve-year-old twins and I moved to Loomis last year, and we are enjoying the community and calmer pace of life. We have two Shetland sheepdogs- Argyle and Annabelle, two barn cats- Fred and Ethel, four chickens- Beatrice, Reba, Dot, and Hazel, and one turtle- Raphael. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and our animals. I also enjoy gardening, painting, and yoga. I am also a HUGE Kentucky Basketball fan. Go Cats!
I look forward to bringing my experience, skills and passion for teaching to the Rocklin Academy Gateway campus.
