Hello! My name is Angela Glover and I'm delighted to be teaching first grade this year at Rocklin Academy Gateway.
Growing up along the coast in the Bay Area I always knew I wanted to teach and would often be found teaching my dolls and stuffed animals. Years of teaching Sunday school, preschool, training AmeriCorps members to work with preschoolers, substitute teaching, and completing my education culminated in my teaching first grade. Locally, I taught first grade in both Roseville City and Western Placer Unified before deciding to begin a family and stay home with my children. Now that my children are older, they attend Rocklin Academy. I decided it was time to get back to teaching and spent the 2016-17 school year in long term substitute positions within charter schools, the majority being at Rocklin Academy Gateway.
First graders hold a special place in my heart. They walk in that first day not sure what awaits them - but by the end they have gone through a metamorphosis; they are readers, writers, inquirers, experimenters, and mathematicians ready to spread their wings and embark on their academic career. For me, to be able to take part in that process is a privileged opportunity.
When I'm not at school you will most likely find me on the sidelines of my kids' various sporting events, camping, running the trails in our surrounding hills, reading a good book on my porch, volunteering at my church, or curling up on the couch for family movie night.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to spend my days with your children, I look forward to meeting your family!
