Hello Rocklin Academy Families! My name is Danielle Hobbs, and this is my fifth year teaching at Rocklin Academy, Gateway. I absolutely love teaching second grade as this is an age of excitement, wonderment, and curiosity! I believe that the potential for every child is limitless. Children have open, questioning, and experimental minds, and they are excited to increase their understanding of the world around them. In order for children to achieve this, they need a safe and secure classroom that is mentally stimulating and challenging. It is my desire as an educator to provide my students with such a classroom; somewhere they feel safe and are comfortable with expanding their knowledge base in a challenging and stimulating atmosphere.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from the University of Iowa in 2008. When I returned home from college, I began working as a substitute teacher for a school in Walnut Creek. I quickly realized that being a teacher was what I was meant to be. I received my credential from Brandman University in 2013, and spent those six years working in a Kindergarten classroom. I relocated to Sacramento in 2014, and was fortunate enough to join the faculty here at Rocklin Academy, Gateway. Two years ago, I got married and became Mrs. Hobbs. On June 21st, Mr. Hobbs and I welcomed our baby boy Harrison Wendell Hobbs to the family. I will be spending the beginning of the year out on Maternity Leave until November 9th. We have a wonderful Guest Teacher, Mrs. Campbell who will get the year off to a fabulous start!
I am thoroughly looking forward to spending this school year partnering with you and your child as we explore and enjoy second grade together. I firmly believe in open communication between a child’s parents and their teacher. Please feel free to contact me through e-mail or in person regarding any questions or concerns that you may have, and I will work with you to find solutions. I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year!
