Hi Gator Families! My name is Micah Stedman and I am so excited to begin my fourth year teaching at Rocklin Academy Gateway. I am thrilled to be teaching third grade for the 3rd time this year! It is such a fun age of discovery, learning, developing character, and personality. I cannot wait to partner with your child, your family, and our staff this coming year.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies at Azusa Pacific University and further received my Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential through CalState Teach. My background collaborating with schools and teaching and aiding within multiple classroom settings goes back nine years. I have worked in private schools, Title 1 schools, schools abroad, and now charter schools. I have truly enjoyed teaching here at Rocklin Academy. This school creates an atmosphere that fosters academic growth while maintaining high standards, inviting parents into student learning, and collaborating both within planning and retrieving data to help better both the student’s experiences and the teacher's’ approach to education.
A little about me-- I am an avid coffee drinker, I love hiking and being outside, and I am very passionate about traveling and experiencing other cultures. I have been to 11 countries and 27 states and I hope to visit many more! This past summer I explored Italy! I am also extremely passionate about my teaching career. I love working with students to create a welcoming classroom environment that helps each child succeed to the best of their abilities while making sure to challenge them in an engaging atmosphere as well. I believe that communication is key between the teacher and families in order to foster positive relationships and create classroom success. I cannot wait to start this wonderful year and I look forward to meeting you all!
