Hello Rocklin Academy Families,
My name is Nicole Moraru and I am thrilled to be a part of the 2nd grade team at Gateway! This will be my fourth year teaching at Gateway, but my first year teaching 2nd grade. I grew up in Sacramento before attending UC Santa Cruz where I studied Anthropology as an undergraduate. Continuing on there, I received my Masters in Education and teaching credential in 2006.
After living in Santa Cruz for 9 years, my husband and I moved to Portland where we married and had our two amazing daughters Alana (8) and Maisy (6). We moved to Rocklin a few years ago to be near family, for the wonderful community, and great schools… and what a home we have found!
I absolutely love watching my students learn and grow throughout the year. I strive to build a fun, safe and welcoming classroom environment in which students can reach their full potential. In my spare time, I enjoy getting sucked into a good book, having game nights with friends, and playing at the park with my kids. Other hobbies of mine include getting crafty, organizing and exploring the Sacramento local music scene.
I am looking forward to meeting my new students and working closely with parents, staff and my second grade cohorts. Here’s to an amazing school year!
