I'm thrilled to be teaching 8th Grade Humanities and in my sixth year with Rocklin Academy Gateway. I received my bachelor's degree in anthropology from Sacramento State University in 2010 and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Brandman University in June of 2014. I have always had a passion for working with children. I have worked in various classroom settings for fourteen years, both as a substitute teacher and in several non-profit educational programs. Though I had originally intended to work in the field as an archaeologist, I determined after a grueling summer of digging that my true passion was teaching. I come from a family of teachers who work across all grade levels and in many different parts of the state. One could argue that teaching is in my blood! My first two years at Gateway were spent in first grade until 2016 when I transferred to eighth grade.
I was born in Sacramento, raised in Rocklin, and now live in Lincoln. I have a passion for piano, film, scores, and am an avid collector of movie memorabilia and posters. I've visited over 15 European countries and am eager for my next trip with my family. I also have one younger brother who is a local music education teacher. My husband and I were married last year after ten years together. We recently purchased our first home and are looking forward to starting a family.
I look forward to collaborating with parents and faculty to make this year at the Rocklin Academy Gateway campus a wonderful one for our children and students!
