My name is Jayme Medd and I am so thankful to be a part of an amazing team of Kindergarten teachers at Rocklin Academy Gateway. We have a wonderful group of teachers who work collaboratively to ensure all students’ needs are meet. As I enter my fifth year at Rocklin Academy Gateway, I look forward to partnering with students, parents, and staff, as we introduce the Core Knowledge curriculum to a new group of young learners.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Pepperdine University. When I accepted a second grade position in the Victor Valley, I attended Cal State San Bernardino and completed my training to earn a multiple subject teaching credential. I also have my Clad and NCLB certifications.
My husband and I have lived in Rocklin for 26 years. I worked in the Eureka School District for three years, teaching second and third grade, and then chose to stay home and raise our 2 sons. As the boys grew older I volunteered in their classrooms, taught Sunday school, worked as a reading intervention teacher and as a substitute for the Rocklin Unified School District. My oldest son is attending Law School at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and my youngest son will be a junior at the University of Nevada in Reno.
Kindergarten is a time of wonder, learning and tremendous growth. I am thrilled to share in this exciting time of your child’s life. I strive to create a positive and productive learning environment that combines academic rigor with fun and engaging activities. I am excited to meet my new kindergartners and eager to work with each child’s family to ensure we meet the needs of all students during their Kindergarten journey.
