My name is Mrs. Medd and I am so thankful to be a part of an amazing team of Kindergarten teachers at Rocklin Academy Gateway. We have a wonderful group of teachers who work collaboratively to ensure all students’ needs are meet. As I enter my sixth year at Rocklin Academy Gateway, I look forward to partnering with students, parents, and staff, as we introduce the Core Knowledge curriculum to a new group of young learners.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Pepperdine University. When I accepted a second grade position in the Victor Valley, I attended Cal State San Bernardino and completed my training to earn a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I taught in Southern California for 5 years before moving to Rocklin. In addition to my teaching credential I also have my Clad and NCLB certifications.
My husband and I have lived in Rocklin for 27 years. I worked in the Eureka School District for three years and then chose to stay home and raise our two sons. As the boys grew older I volunteered in their classrooms, taught Sunday school and worked as both a reading intervention teacher and as a substitute for the Rocklin Unified School District. This year my oldest son will enter his final year of Law School at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and my youngest son will be a senior at the University of Nevada Reno.
Kindergarten is a time of wonder, learning, and tremendous growth. I am thrilled to share in this exciting time of your child’s life. I strive to create a positive and productive learning environment that combines academic rigor with fun and engaging activities. I look forward to becoming partners with each child’s family to ensure we meet the needs of all students.
