Hello, my name is Jenifer Chavez, this will be my fifth year teaching at Rocklin Academy Gateway, and I am thrilled to be teaching kindergarten for a fourth year! I am excited to meet the newest Gateway students and their families.
After seeing the joy of learning through the eyes of my own children, I knew I wanted to make a positive impact on the lives of students. So, I finished up my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education while my girls were little and went on to earn my teaching credential at National University, and here I am!
I was a Transitional Kindergarten teacher during Rocklin Academy Gateway’s inaugural year and a Kindergarten teacher for the past three years. My previous teaching experiences include 3 years teaching pre-kindergarten at a local Christian preschool as well as a year of substitute teaching various grade levels in the area.
My husband Brian and I have called Roseville our home for over 19 years, and we have two girls known as Ali & KK. Alison will be in sixth grade here at Gateway and Kaitlyn will be in a freshman at Whitney High School. Both girls play competitive soccer, which means we spend a lot of time driving them to trainings, feeding them on the go, and traveling for games. When we aren’t on the pitch watching our girls play their hearts out, you can find us boating, riding bikes, running and enjoying our time together as a family. I enjoy reading, running, organizing, decorating my home, and relaxing.
Kindergarten is an exciting time for parents and students. I hope to instill the love of learning through a predictable, fun and engaging learning environment, where mistakes will be made, expectations will be high and students will thrive!
