Hi, I’m Nancy Chalfant. I am delighted to be teaching transitional kindergarten at Rocklin Academy Gateway. This will be my fifth year teaching TK at Rocklin Academy Gateway. I have also enjoyed teaching kindergarten, first grade and pre-kindergarten prior to joining the Rocklin Academy Gateway team. In addition to classroom teaching, I have enjoyed directing several early education programs in my 30 years as an educator. I am thrilled to be a part of the Rocklin Academy Gateway staff.
I received my undergraduate degree at Biola University and continued on at CSU Fullerton for my teaching credential. I have done graduate work at CSU Northridge and University of San Diego abroad. I also hold a child development program director permit, which opened opportunities for me to direct preschool programs. I am originally from Los Altos, in the Bay Area. I spent ten years in southern California, and have now lived with my husband Jeff and three daughters in Roseville for over 20 years. I have been actively involved in my children’s education by volunteering at their school as a classroom helper, art docent, school site council and PTA member.
My youngest, Megan, just completed her first year at Seattle Pacific University. She is an NCAA athlete, on SPU women’s crew team and studying pre-nursing. Katie, our middle, is a business major at Cal. Poly SLO, heading into her senior year. Emily, our oldest, is a student at UOP in their PA program. She was married in May, and we are thrilled to now have a son. We are happy that they live close by, in Sacramento. We are now empty nesters during the school year. I enjoy going to the beach and finding new quilt shops along the way. I look forward to meeting all of you this year at Rocklin Academy Gateway.
