I am excited to be teaching 7th Grade Math, 8th Grade Math, and Integrated 1 this school year. This will be my first year teaching at Rocklin Academy. I received my Bachelor’s Degree and my math authorization in 2010 from California State University, Sacramento. I earned my multiple-subject teaching credential in 2011 at William Jessup University. I spent three years substitute teaching in all of the grade levels. I also spent three years working for California Montessori Project with 4th, 5th, and 6th graders as a Teacher’s Assistant and as the Lead Teacher. I have always enjoyed teaching others, and I especially love helping others with math. I worked for Huntington Learning Center for 6 years. Where I tutored K-12th graders with reading and math.
I believe that all students have the ability to learn. However, there are times where students need a little extra help, so that they can understand what is being taught. I have a passion for helping students learn math regardless of where their math skills are at.
I was born on a Navy Base in North Carolina, and my family moved back to Sacramento, California when I was about three years old. Most of my family is in Sacramento. However, my father and my step-mother live in Oregon. I have three sons (9, 4, and 2 years old). I love to spend most of my time with my family playing unique board games and watching movies.I look forward to collaborating with faculty and parents to make this year at Rocklin Academy a wonderful one for our students.
