Hi, my name is Elizabeth O'Neil,l and I am so excited to be joining the Rocklin Academy Gateway family. I was born in Massachusetts and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. I spent a year at Chico State, in the National Student Exchange Program, where I met my husband. I then received my Master's of Education and my multiple subject teaching credential from Claremont Graduate University in Southern California, where I lived for several years. During this time, I completed my single subject credential in English Language Arts through the UCLA Extension program and was a nominee for the Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year Award. I have 10 years of teaching experience: two years in Kindergarten, one year in 2nd, and seven years teaching 6th and 7th grade. Due to my husband's job, we have moved a lot. I have taught in many areas throughout California, in Phoenix, Arizona and held teaching credentials in Texas and Kansas. People frequently ask me which grade I prefer teaching the most, and I can't seem to give them an answer. I just love being in the classroom guiding students on their educational journey and instilling a lifelong love for learning. I truly believe that I have the best job in the world, no matter what grade I am teaching.
My family just moved here to the Roseville/Rocklin area from Palm Springs, and we are so excited to make this our forever home. Outside of the classroom, I love to be spending time with my husband, my 4 year old son, and my 2 1/2 year old daughter. I love running, playing or watching sports, hiking, and exploring the area. I look forward to meeting all of you!
