Hello Families!  My name is Jon Haney.  I am very excited for my seventh year at Rocklin Academy Gateway. Go Gators!  The fourth grade is a remarkable year that truly challenges the students to take more responsibility with their learning process.  I am excited to help and guide students to achieve success.

I graduated from CSU Sacramento with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies.  I obtained my multiple subject teaching credential through the Cal State Teach program,  at CSU Fresno.

I live in Loomis with my wife, two sons, baby girl, and our two dogs.  I have spent the last ten years studying various forms of martial arts, recently earning my purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.  I believe coffee is the best way to start your day and it is cool to be smart. My classroom promotes a fun learning environment that is safe and also guides students to think for themselves.  I have a love for learners and fostering that passion for learning is my goal with all of my students. I believe in an open communication style between the families and the teacher. Being a parent myself, I can see the viewpoint coming from both sides of the classroom and am eager to create positive relationships to help generate the best possible classroom success.
