Hi! My name is Brittany Burton, and I am excited to be teaching first grade this year! I was born and raised in a small town in the central valley where my love for teaching and helping others began. After I graduated from high school, I attended California State University, Chico where I earned my BA in Liberal Arts, with minors in Special Education and Child Development. During my time in Chico, I also earned both of my teaching credentials: Multiple Subject General Education credential and K-12 Education Specialist credential. I loved living in Chico because of the beautiful surrounding areas where I was able to go hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, camping, and many other outdoor activities. My trusty sidekicks that always joined me on my adventures were my two dogs- Stormy and Archer. I moved to Roseville about five years ago where I began teaching for Rocklin Academy. I had the opportunity to move over to Gateway when it opened for the 2014-2015 school year and have loved every minute of it since. I believe that all students are capable of learning at high levels and that working with parents to ensure success for their child is vital. I love to make learning fun while pushing students to reach their personal best! I am looking forward to a great year!
