Hi, I’m Nancy Chalfant. I am delighted to be teaching transitional kindergarten at Rocklin Academy Gateway. This will be my fourth year teaching TK at Rocklin Academy Gateway. I have also enjoyed teaching kindergarten, first grade and pre-kindergarten prior to joining the Rocklin Academy Gateway team. In addition to classroom teaching, I have enjoyed directing several early education programs in my 28 years as an educator. I am thrilled to be a part of the Rocklin Academy Gateway staff.
I received my undergraduate degree at Biola University and continued on at CSU Fullerton for my teaching credential. I have done graduate work at CSU Northridge and University of San Diego abroad. I also hold a child development program director permit, which opened opportunities for me to direct preschool programs. I am originally from Los Altos, in the Bay Area. I spent ten years in southern California, and have now lived with my husband Jeff and three daughters in Roseville for over 20 years. I have been actively involved in my children’s education by volunteering at their school as a classroom helper, art docent, school site council and PTA member.
My youngest, Megan, just graduated from High School and is off to Seattle Pacific University for nursing. Katie, our middle, is a business major at Cal. Poly SLO. Emily our oldest graduated with her BS in Biology from Point Loma University in San Diego and is now applying for PA schools. We are approaching being empty nesters, but not yet. I enjoy going to the beach and finding new quilt shops along the way (to Seattle this summer). I look forward to meeting all of you this year at Rocklin Academy Gateway.
